I was a little late in the game and did not know about this band until earlier this year, but how glad am I that I checked them out.
After hearing this album, I cannot imagine my life without it.
I thought that this CD may be a little pop/synth for me, as I usually like my music loud and heavy, but it really isn't, and the record is really refreshing and infectious. One listen and you are hooked.
The talent of both Leisha Hailey and Camilla Grey is outstanding.
I have been lucky enough to see them play in L.A, and the musicianship of them both, is just incredible.
I had no idea just how many instruments Leisha can play!
The fact the vocals on this album were recorded in Camillas bathroom to give it a kind of echo-feel to them, just makes you think... if they can record an album of this quality without a studio, just imagine what they can produce in one.
You can hear the passion in every lyric, and Camilla has truly one of the most enticing voices I have heard for a long time.
It's a shame that the main reason people find out about this band is because Leisha starred in 'The L Word' TV series, because this band should be bigger than they are, they just don't have any real promotion behind them. So show your support and buy their album. You won't regret it.
My favourite tracks:
'Not A Love Song' - one of the more dancy up-beat songs on the album..
'Dreamer': Amazing vocals, has an atmospheric sound and I find it hard to listen to is just once and not put it on repeat.
Infact they are all too good not to mention.
Buy this album and support this band, they deserve it.
I hope that they are around for a long time to come.
