This book is written for homebuyers in the USA and many of the hints and tips do not apply to the UK housing market.

the book does contain some useful tips and advice, and considering that buying a house is in theory the largest purchase we make then any advice is worth having. However the book is squarly aimed at the American market and so about a third of the information is pointless and some of the rest must be checked prior to planning with it.

As first homebuyers, we made a wise choice when we selected this book. It was very informative and provided insider information that our agent did not tell us. I believe that our buying process was smoother because we were able to anticipate things better since we were better informed.
