Very comprehensive guide to every type of commodity. Great start for anyone who is planning to go into the energy sector. Gives a summary of info regarding supply and demand determinants, provides statistics and builds up an understanding of different trading strategies.
As my intention is to become an energy trader, i have to say, after reading this book i feel prepared for entering the job market. I obtained a full understanding of both fundamentals of the energy market as well as technical analysis tools and hedging strategies. This book covers different types of commodities, from oil and gas to corn and sugar.

Commodity Trade and Finance

Although pricey, this is an invaluable source of reference for the complex world of commodity trade and finance. Professor Tamvakis, a colossus in maritime academia, draws heavily on his many years of unparalleled expertise in trade research to come up with a comprehensive compendium to any aspiring commodity trader or financier. The text flows but at the same time is well structured and the layout disciplined yet easy to follow. The consolidating of such a wide topic is a huge challenge but the author's skillful mastery of the subject matter is well apparent as it all pulls together in both an enjoyable and factual way. This book is too good to miss. A superb read cover to cover - I couldn't put it down and neither will you! Also great for 2nd time dipping into bits that were too good to savour first time around. A landmark educational reference tome - Professor Tamvakis puts down his marker as the pre-eminent subject matter expert in commodity trade and finance.
