Life is complex but we’ve got plenty of tries to get it right–which is why when Motion City Soundtrack frontman Justin Pierre sings, “All the destruction will one day end and you’ll finally know exactly who you are”—it’s a sentiment of self-discovery filled with optimism instead of regret. Correspondingly after putting out one album on Columbia, Motion ... Read more in Amazon's Motion City Soundtrack Store

'Commit this to memory,' is another great album by Motion City Soundtrack. Instantly catchy guitars/keyboards/melodies/choruses etc. Definately one to buy if you are fan of bands like Jimmy Eat World, Death Cab for cutie etc.

The DVD is pretty cool too. The documentary gives a fairly detailed insight into the personalities and life of the band. The Live show is good too, good picture, great sound. The videos are all fun to watch and the deleted scenes are also fun with a very honest interview from Justin Pierre which is quite eye opening...(Incase you are wondering the DVD is region free.)

All in all an essential Motion City Soundtrack purchase!

Very good CD & DVD! 13 Jan. 2007

I wasn't sure about this band (especially after hearing "Everything Is Alright" one too many times), but I love this CD!! The singing is great. Sometimes it's high, and sometimes it's more pop-punk-ish--it's a unique mix (the CD doesn't feel like the same old thing by another band)--and the songs are easy to like right away, even though they're still very different from each other. I'd rate this CD 4 & 1/2 stars, but because the DVD is so complete (it has a lot of live performances, interviews with the band, other footage, and even an appearance by Mark Hoppus from Plus 44...but especially live performances; the DVD was much more than I had expected!), I'll give it 5 stars. It's hard to rate CDs, but if you like any of their songs, I'd recommend looking into this! All I liked was "Hangman" and one of the other ones before buying it, but now I like almost every song on the CD, and even some of the songs that the DVD shows live from their older CD.

I saw (and heard) Motion City Soundtrack for the first time at a concert in Charlotte. They had so much stage presence and energy that it was infectious. The entire audience was singing along at the top of their lungs and the way that the band interacted with them was so much fun. I had to get the album by the time it was over.

The tunes are catchy. They get stuck in your head for days. As for the lyrics, they are well thought out, honest, and inspiring. The songs are easy to relate to and touched a part in me that was messed up and wanting to be better. This album is art. It's not a platform to sell a belief or push an agenda. It is honest songs coming from a person who has been there and needs to sing about it. It's communication from a group of people that can only be shared through music.

And from the size and loyalty of the crowd that I met that night, what is being shared is heartily received.
Can't put it down! 11 Oct. 2010

I have been a fan of this band since I saw a video on tv from their previous album. I have never been let down by their efforts. This is a solid album start to finish and I do suggest getting the special edition with the DVD extras! You really get to know the band more every time you pop in the cd or dvd. As with any band, not everyone will get into their music but you'd be surprised how easy you can get hooked.
Best MCS record so far 11 Dec. 2010

I can't think of a single thing to complain about for the entire album or dvd. Definitely pick this up if you're a fan of Motion City, or even Blink 182 (Mark Hoppus helped produce the album), New Found Glory, or Farewell. Anyone who is familiar with epitaph records knows that they dont sign bad bands, or release bad albums. Definitely check this one out.
Already love the band, Product was exceptional 11 May 2013

Like I said, I love MCS. I've even met the band. So when my beloved album got too scratched, I purchased it on Amazon. I was slightly hesitant to by a used CD on Amazon, because you can never tell how bad the disc it. I must say, however, that this vendor is exceptional. The CD looked better than new, I highly recommend.
