Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This game is absolutely for fans only! PLUS the first games (C&C, Red Alert and tiberium wars) who play only in win 95-98 plays great on any OS (win 7 included) it just emulates your OS to 95-98 without anycrash... it's a great add-on to your collection!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great C&C fun, poor compatibility 15 July 2012

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
For the price, this package offers a great deal. I greatly enjoyed all of the older C&C titles, so when I spotted this pack I snapped it up. I was definitely looking forward to rekindling all of those old memories when the game arrived, but that was when I ran into trouble. I am running a Windows 7 64-bit machine, which I knew from reading other reviews would cause compatibility issues. The older C&C games simply didn't factor in Windows 7 design, UAC or 64-bit into their software design and so getting the games to run is a challenge. The first one I tried was Red Alert 2, which installed just fine along with all the others. Running it caused an instant crash, so I tried EA's offical 1.1 and 1.2 patches. The result was the same, with an instant crash to desktop. In the end I had to download an unofficial patch and add a separate .ini file to make the game run, at which point it worked like a dream.

I would advise owners of newer machines to carefully read guides available online on how to get these games to work with Windows Vista and 7, otherwise you will be disappointed. Once you get it all working, the games are just as great as they used to be. I was a bit disappointed that EA didn't try and upgrade their install package to try and account for these problems (though I know Westwood was absorbed by EA completely so this may not have been so easy), but as I have been hacking games for a good few years to make them work I didn't mind. If you're not sure if you can manage then do some reading online as stated too avoid being stuck with a large paperweight. I would say though, it is definitely worth the trouble to enjoy hours and hours of exceptional gaming from Westwood Studios!

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This is a game i used to play when it first came out on the computer and lost years ago so it was so good to see it advertised on here and to have it all on one disk from the beginning to the present day. Excellent game.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ahhh nothing hooks me in more. 10 Aug 2013

I adore C&C. Always have, always will. My brother used to own this and I'd just play that but I believe he broke his or something ages ago so upon seeing this I thought I'd get my own copy. This CD is brilliant, and like me you probably want to know if it works on higher windows versions: it does. Well I have windows 7, and it works perfectly (use "Run as Administrator" and they all load). My only negative thing about this product/these games, is that I've lost a lot of sleep lately. It's way too addictive :P Definitely worth it though.
