This CD spans Til Tueday's career, from the full blown synth-pop of "Voices Carry" through to the mature (adult oriented?) rock extracted from their final album - the last 5 tracks on this compilation. The focal point of the band was singer/ songwriter Aimee Mann, now an established artist in her own right, her powerful voice and strong songs mean that even the earlier tracks on this retrospective have aged gracefully. For me, however, the high points are the later songs: "Believed you were Lucky" (here in its full, x-rated album version rather than the edited single), "Long Gone Buddy" and the sublime "Other end of the Telescope". The latter was co-written with Elvis Costello and features the man himself on backing vocals. If you're an Aimee Mann fan, or just a fan of intelligent, well crafted songs this album's for you.
