5.0 out of 5 stars Ignore the cover! 6 April 2009
Format:Paperback
Billed as a superromance this really does what it says on the tin. It tells the tale of a clever student who meets a rock star and falls in love. So far so predictable but the rock star is a kind, caring man who spends time with her, gives her good advice - and then sends her on her way. She never forgets him and while following his career also follows his advice, becoming a Pulitzer prize-winning journalist and biographer. Years later she is devastated when he and his crew die in a plane crash. Her homage is to write his biography. It takes a long time as she works painstakingly to set his life into print. At the point where she needs family input she hits an unexpected snag: everyone refuses to co-operate. The mother even takes out an injunction against her. Proud of all she has achieved so far, the journalist is devastated and as a last resort drives to Alabamha to enlist the help of the rock star's brother. Like the rest of the family he is less than welcoming but she persists and against his will, and certainly hers, they fall in love. Again, so far so predictable but now the story takes off as neither will admit their love and when they do even then nothing is straightforward. Questions arise over the rock star's substantial estate, the commendable use of which somehow troubles the late's musician's family. There is the distinct possibility that our Pulitzer prize-winner has got a lot of things wrong. With her reputation and integrity at stake she must find the truth - and keep her man! As cracking little tale with far more to it that its misleading cover implies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stupendous-original -unforgettable 6 Jan 2001
By Harriet Klausner - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Ever since Kathryn Morgan was nineteen, she idolized singer-songwriter James Hayes. Now that Kathryn has won a Pulitzer, she feels adequate to write the definitive piece on her superstar who died in a plane crash.

However, no one among the Hayes family will grant an interview with Kate. In a final effort to save her pet project, she visits the horse-breeding farm of James' brother in Alabama. Bret refuses even though he believes Kate is an honest and ethical journalist.

Eventually, Kate wears down Bret who opens up to her. As they work closely together, an attraction between them occurs. However, Kate senses Bret is holding back so she in turn hesitates to commit to him until he proves he fully trusts her.

Fay Robinson writes stories that defy simple categorization, leaving readers with powerful tales to savor. COMING HOME TO YOU is a beautiful poignant drama that has plenty of pleasant surprises for the audience. A master of misdirection, Ms. Robinson keeps her readers guessing what will happen next including wondering if the usual "happily ever after" will happen in this novel. This story is one of the best contemporary romances of the year.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Fresh and Fascinating Read. 8 Feb 2002
By Sophie - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
"Coming Home to You" by Fay Robinson is a touching and emotional story that will captivate readers. With a touch of mystery added to the romance, this book will appeal to many.
Kathryn Morgan is a successful and sought-after biographer on a mission. Ever since she met singer-songwriter James Hayes when she was 19 years old, she has wanted to write his story. Now, several years after James' tragic death in a plane crash, Kate has tracked down James' brother, Bret Hayes, a reclusive horse-breeder, in a last-ditch attempt to get a Hayes family member to assist with her book.
To Bret Hayes, Kate is the number one enemy and his worst nightmare. Not only is she beautiful, but she's extremely intelligent and incredibly determined as well, which makes her a prime candidate to uncover his family's darkest secret. Bret originally wants Kate to leave him alone, but after spending time in her company, he begins to see that he's falling in love with her. Now Bret is in a terrible situation, because the woman who holds his heart is the one person with the power to destroy him!
"Coming Home to You" is a highly original and satisfying read. The characters are richly portrayed and intriguing and the storyline will keep you turning pages. I most definitely recommend this book and I guarantee you will enjoy it!

This is a great book by a great author.

Kate Morgan is writing a book about the life of musician James Hayes who died in an airplane crash several years before . She goes to visit his brother Bret to get him to give her information for the book, but he does not want to. They end up spending time together though and soon find themselves attracted to one another. There is only one problem, there is something not right and soon Kate finds out something about Bret and James that changes everything including her book.
