Book Description

7 Jan 2010

Ever experienced deja vu? An enchanting and magical novel from the author of Could It Be Magic?

A freak snowstorm leaves a young woman unconscious and stranded. Coming to, she has no recollection of who she is or how she happened to be stuck in the middle of unfamiliar countryside. All she recalls is the warm arms of a passing stranger coming to her rescue and carrying her to safety…

She awakes in an idyllic country cottage, a cottage belonging to Vincent, a recently widowed city banker who uses it as his rural getaway. Dashing and polite, the woman can't think of a better knight in shining armour. While the housekeeper isn't best pleased abut her arrival, Vincent's six-year-old daughter Jadie, can hardly contain her excitement, chattering away excitedly. Trouble is, she's been mute for the past two years…

As she struggles with flashbacks to her past, memories come back to the woman which aren't her own, bringing with them a stream of questions. What secrets does Vincent hide? Why has Jadie being silent for so long? Will she ever discover her true identity? Or is she, as Jadie believes, an angel come to save them all?

An enchanting and magical novel about forgotten lives and second chances for fans of Cecelia Ahern and Sophie Kinsella.

About the Author

Melanie Rose was an avid reader from an early age and found herself looking at the world around her and wondering 'what if?' She began writing as a teenager, progressing to short stories and articles for magazines and newspapers. She trained as a nursery nurse and later became a play therapist on the children's ward at the Royal Marsden Hospital, continuing to write in her spare time.
She self-published her first novel which was voted one of the favourite reads of the year by listeners of Radio 4's Open Book programme.
She now lives in Surrey with her husband and four sons, who, along with many of the children she has cared for, provide much inspiration for her books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Book! 19 Jan 2010
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Having enjoyed Melanie Rose's first book "Could It Be Magic" I was really looking forward to reading "Coming Home". It is fair to say that I was not disappointed, in fact I couldn't put it down! The story is about a woman who is moving away from home, but gets lost in a snow storm. She manages to get out of her car before it falls into a river and tries to find some shelter, but collapses in the snow. She wakes up in a strange house and has lost her memory. She has been rescued by Vincent who lives with his daughter, but there is more to their story than meets the eye. This is a a quirky story which will keep you gripped. I would recommend to anyone who is a fan of Sophie Kinsella and Cecelia Ahern. Can't wait for Melanie's next book.
