I was devastated when my long term relationship ended without warning. I needed something to help me understand the sometimes overwhelming feelings I was having. Whilst some of this book is difficult to read as it encourages you to face your ended relationship face on, it nevertheless helped me to realise that I wasn't alone. It also helped to give me back a bit of control through some practical steps that I'm still working through to help me say goodbye to my relationship in a more healthy way.

A very calm and thoughtful book that takes one through the inevitable pain of a break up. It's as though Daphne Rose Kingma is holding your hand tightly through a carefully devised process, ensuring that you leave no emotional stone unturned and hopefully emerge wiser and as emotionally intact as possible. I highlighted so many paragraphs which were inspirational and anchoring when feeling so lost. I kept going back to it after I realised I had passed through a particular stage, just as she had predicted which was encouraging and made me feel I was heading in the right direction.
