Comfortably Numb - A History of 19 Jan. 2007
By John Roscoe - Published on
Format: Hardcover
I've read many books on the Floyd and several on other Rock 'N Roll fronts, but I have not encountered anything quite to the level that this brings. While it delves into a Single Album by a Single Band you might think, "Why would I even care to read a 288 page book about one album?" Well it is much more than that. Strip the layers upon layers about the album and you have the story of Pink Floyd during these all important and traumatic years for the band itself. I was impressed to learn that Richard Wright had much more to do with the album than was previously known! In fact the band had much more to do with the overall playing on the album than was previously thought!

Vernon Fitch and Richard Mahon take you through a journey from the moment the concept of the Wall was formulated by Roger Waters to the dramatic climax in 1981 when the last concert was played. Couple that with the hundreds of amazing photos generously displayed on every page makes this a truly worth while endeavor. In my mind, it's an encyclopedia with a story line, a plot that was expertly told.

How many other books can claim the benefit AND blessings of Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Nick Mason, Gerald Scarfe, Bob Ezrin, James Guthrie, Phil Taylor et al? I think I can count them with one or two fingers. For a book not written by a band member, it may as well have been, that's how in depth the research and thought went into it. I can not say enough about it. Reading this book gives anyone a better understanding of one of rock's conceptual masterpieces. [.....]

A truly must own for any Floyd enthusiast!

Unparalleled Book on The Wall 28 Sept. 2013
By Msry - Published on
Format: Hardcover
This is an incredible book, belonging in the library of rock history buffs and fans of Pink Floyd. This is the go-to resource for pictures and information surrounding the making of The Wall and the concerts the band put on during the seventies/eighties. It's unfortunate that there was only a limited run of this (5000 copies) with each copy being signed by the author. After-market prices already reflect its scarcity and demand, but it's a must-have.
Great book, still available direct from the author for a bargain price! 19 Aug. 2015

Format: Hardcover
Great production history of the landmark album.

Awesome info. Basic layout that gets the job done. Lots of quality facts and details, fine writing, and rare photographs and copies of things like tracking sheets, etc. If you love to geek out about this album, this book will really satisfy.

That said, you can buy it direct from PFA Publishing via the Pink Floyd Archives web site or direct from the author for MSRP of forty US bucks plus shipping. Signed by both authors. And numbered limited edition of 5000 copies. As of 2015 Summer there were still 1000 copies available.

Great Book 29 Dec. 2014

Format: Hardcover
This is one of the best written books about Pink Floyd I've ever read. Don't pay an inflated price though. It is still available on the author's website.
