Comfort Eagle is a worthy CD. The lyrics are smart and witty; the music is intricate and obviously charged with talent. Bought purely on the merits of short skirt/long jacket I have not been disappointed. Cake have taken the originality of Fashion Nugget and transcended it into Comfort Eagle. With so much computer generated music around today its great to hear music played on original instruments! Cake have pulled another fantastic album out of the fridge. An extremely good addition to any music collection that appreciates music that isn't clichéd.

I had heard of Cake but never bothered to check them out until I saw the terrible 'Orange County' and heard one of their songs. It was such an amazing song that I no longer had any excuse not to check them out. I bought Comfort Eagle and was very very pleasantly surprised.
Some of the songs are growers but I've come to realise that some of my favourite songs didn't make a huge impact on me when I first heard them. This is one of those albums that you can have on repeat and not grow tired of. I like the fact that they are a very instrumental group, with trumpets etc... heard in most of the songs. The lyrics are witty, the beats are great. A real gem of an album.

In comfort eagle cake have released another excellent album confirming there status as one of the most original and worthwhile acts around.When you buy this stick it on repeat as, as with their other albums this took me a few listens to really get into with the exception of .....symphony in c and pretty pink ribbon which grabbed me immediately i think that the title track is a real grower and kicks ass all the tracks are cool but my other faves are opera singer and meanwhile rick james. make this a worthy addition to your record collection and if you havent done so already buy everything else they have released while you are at it. long live cake
