United Kingdom released, PAL/Region 2 DVD: LANGUAGES: English ( Mono ), SPECIAL FEATURES: Black & White, Interactive Menu, Scene Access, SYNOPSIS: Long Lost Comedy Classics is a collection of films from a golden age of British Cinema, remembered for timeless stars and some unique movies that have stood the test of time. So why not take a trip down memory lane and see how cinema used to be? In this delightful fantasy adventure, a mild-mannered newspaper columnist (Richard Hearne) finds himself presented with an intriguing proposition from an elderly fan (Margaret Rutherford). She suggests that they conspire to steal a secret whiskey formula from ruthless distillers, who themselves stole it from her family in years gone by. With the recipe back in hand however, it`s not long before they attract attention from the Inspectors of Scotland Yard. ...Miss Robin Hood

By John Austin HALL OF FAME TOP 1000 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:DVD
The inimitable Margart Rutherford here fits perfectly into the role of an elderly female "Robin Hood" aiding and abetting in a plan to steal from the rich in order to restore what they stole to the poor. Expect plenty of wild chases, flocks of pigeons, scatterings of currency notes, and cameo roles from many of your favourite players of the 1950s. You get plenty of Margaret Rutherford for your money, and a top quality DVD restoration.

Hilarious! 1 Jan 2008
Format:DVD
Wow! I had no idea how good this was going to be. I laughed out loud all the way through. A cast of excellent British comedy talent and a story that is both for children and adults (a little postcard saucy in places!)
Rutherford is a unique talent and matched against James Robertson Justice she's always at her best! Just a great film that deserves to be seen by a wider audience but probably won't be as it is in black and white!

You have to be a Margaret Rutherford fan to enjoy this - it is lightweight to say the least and dated.
Having said that it is - even if lightweight- a comedy classic and worth watching.
Be warned though if not a fan you will waste your money

Briliant and never to be forgotten.
Actor's like this will never come around again. It's funny, no sex, no violence and real life british humour as it used to be?

Thoroughly Unfunny
One of the stupidest and most unfunny films I have ever had the misfortune to watch. I read the reviews and thought it was going to be a good film. Don't be fooled, it's rubbish.
