I'm a long term Placebo fan, but have never seen them live ; this Blu Ray certainly makes me feel like I have! Great list of songs, obviously heavy with the 'Battle for the Sun' songs, but also a nice collection of tracks from all their other albums.
Technically, the picture quality of the concert is fine, nothing to shout about, but the sound is the main thing, and that is great, with a choice of PCM, Dolby and DTS, which was nice to have.
The stage 'performance' is simple ; there is a video screen behind them, but essentially it's a small(ish) concert venue; this isn't a massive visual spectacle- but it's the music that counts after all. Unlike some bands, there is no time wasted on chatting to the crowd, introducing the band etc..just music from start to finish.
As the previous reviewer mentioned, the documentary was a great surprise : I normally expect these sort of 'tour videos' to be a rather obvious affair, just trailing after the band. But this was actually a very insightful piece, and it was great to hear Brian and the other band members talking about all aspects of the music profession, their whole career, their feelings etc. Also, the imagery was really impressive, and it looks superb in High Def.

Let's face it, if you are even looking at this Blu Ray page, you're already a fan; so just get on and buy this thing!

For info : the concert itself is 1hour 24mins : the documentary is 1hour, and the other extras last about 30mins

Only (very minor) criticism: the Blu Ray comes in a cardboard packaging, which doesn't stay shut and will be easily damaged.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great concert with excellent bonus materials 3 Dec 2011
Format:Blu-ray
I've been a Placebo fan since their debut album and i saw them twice live.

Placebo always offers great live concerts to their devoted fans around the world and this Blu-Ray is a perfect example of what i'm talking about.

Anyone who buys this new live concert will embark on a beautiful and captuvating journey.the tracklist is awesome and most of the songs are presented live for the first time. The picture quality and editing of the show are both perfect.yiu can clearly see the sweat, tears, laughters and facial expressions of both the band and the crowd. The audio quality is perfect and will blow you away (in a positive way). As for the extra live songs from different countries, full length documentary and short movie they captivated me for hours and are more than worth it; they are a must see.

I recommend this Blu-Ray to all fans and give it an overall rating of 5 over 5.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Placebophiles 4 Nov 2011
Format:Blu-ray|Amazon Verified Purchase
Great coverage of the Brixton gig from the Battle for the Sun tour, which in true Placebo style contains excellent reworkings of songs such as Meds, the odd cover version, and Brian and Stefan doing their usual thing.

As for the extras, there is a superb documentary of the band's musings from the last tour. Brian and Stefan have clearly matured from the party people they used to be, and the feelings that this was 50% 'show' and 50% 'business' as far as the tour was concerned contrasted with drummer Steve Forrest's kid in a sweetshop initial reaction to his feelings of depression and homesickness as the tour meandered across the world. Seeing the band meet the president of Chile, and see him do a press conference proclaiming them as friends of the country added a sense of surrealism to the more day to day behind the scenes revelations.

They come across well, and if you are a Placebo fan this will fill a gap and the appetite whetted until the next Album/Tour arises, which can't come quickly enough for me.

1.0 out of 5 stars No subtitles despite Amazon product description 13 Nov 2011
Format:DVD
I bought this DVD as I'm a fan of Placebo, I'm also profoundly deaf and use an artificial cochlear implant with which to 'hear' with. This product is advertised on Amazon as having subtitles in English, this isn't the case, I'm left with a DVD I can't watch. Very disappointed and indeed frustrated.
