Blackmore finds rage and focus together for dp sign off,
By A Customer
This review is from: Come Hell Or High Water (Audio CD)
This is a fitting last release for the Mk II (or should that be 2c) lineup, the flair, passion and fury that set the classic early seventies albums apart from any other sequence by a single band are captured again as Blackmore's working relationship with the rest of the band comes to an end. His playing captured on this disc is sharp and driven in a way that had been lacking in many of the live performances in the years coming up to this and Gillan's voice is also on fine form. The rest of the band - ever immaculate - are fired by their performances to make this a special album for Deep purple fan's. The rarely performed country spoof Anyone's Daughter is included here alongide magnificent performance of A Twist in the Tail and Perfect Strangers - the old standards are also presented well. The mix makes more of Lord's organ play than most Purple live material and does so to good advantage. If forced to pick one live disc from the reunion era this is the one to go for.

Blackmore bows out with awesome sound,

One big reason to get this livealbum is the teriffic soundquality, and also the fact that Ritchie Blackmore left shortly after these conserts took place. To hear Blackmore's playing in "Anya", "Child in time" and "Speed king" is worth the price alone. Promise!! The tension of old days are there again, and all for the better. The big fault is that "The battle rages on" is missing, since this baby is one great live-number.

This review is from: Come Hell or High Water (Audio CD)
Ritchie Blackmore had been replaced by Steve Morse in 1995. This last Testimonial of the greatness name of DP might been unforgottable with Blackmore. Two shows in Stuttgart germany and Birmingham UK were recorded in the same year. a MUST FOR DP FANS
