Thorough, accurate teaching of Columbus 10 Nov 2008
By gary - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This book is refreshing. It gives complete background and well-explained details of Columbus's world, and a more accurate historical perspective, depicting Columbus as intelligent, but also clarifies his mistakes. It explains how he thought he was in the Indies. I especially like the fact that the Native Americans' "side of the story" is also told...i.e. "How can you "discover" a place when there are and have been inhabitants for thousands of years?" This book is an excellent tool for teaching children a more accurate account of historical events.
A more honest, complete account on history 15 Oct 2014
By Brown Tea - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
The discovery of the Americas is as much a part of global history as every mile of land is part of the earth. Many previously published chronicles of historical events have been glossed over and excluded prominent facts from being mentioned, offering completely rewritten versions of people's heritage. This book is a great alternative for presenting a more clear view of American history while still maintaining a respectful perspective. The author doesn't attempt to tear down historical views which may have been falsely presented before but provides a more open account with facts previously omitted by history books.

Negative American History book 21 Dec 2009
By Judy - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
It is disgusting that some public school elementary teachers are allowing this book in their classrooms. The author, who was born and raised in Afganistan, presents a very negative image of Christopher Columbus and is attempting to rewrite American History.
