Synopsis
One of the most famous detectives to ever hit the television screen, Columbo (Peter Falk) has become an iconic character in popular culture. Forever clad in a raincoat and chomping a cigar, the dishevelled Columbo seems as scatterbrained as his appearance would suggest. However, even when it appears that his investigation is going nowhere, Columbo's keen mind is absorbing details and clues, until finally he reveals that he knows everything that's happened. Each episode opens with a murder, followed by Columbo's investigation, and finally his revelation of how he put the events together. Columbo became popular and famous for its clever dramatic structure and Peter Falk's winning portrayal of the detective. This release includes a selection of episodes from the tenth series of the show.

Columbo season 10 volume 2 is not exactly an accurate title for the episodes included in this set were tv movies and not an actual series. This is only a minor gripe as the episodes included in this 3 disk set are excellent.
The episodes are Undercover, Strange Bedfellows, A Trace Of Murder, Ashes To Ashes, Murder With Too Many Notes and finally Columbo Likes The Nightlife. As I said before I enjoyed all of these episodes especially Ashes To Ashes and Columbo Likes The Nightlife.
The guest stars are excellent and include Billy Connolly who appears in the story Murder With Too Many Notes, Patrick McGoohan makes his fourth and final appearance in Columbo in the episode Ashes To Ashes.
The picture and sound quality is pritty good. The only slight dissapointment is the usual lack of special features on the dvd. A retospective on the series would have been nice or a audio commentary track on some of the episodes would have been great. Still you can't have everything. What you do get is 3 disks of classic Columbo. A great finalie to one of the best detective series to appear on television.

Have been waiting for a while for these tiles of Columbo to complete my series.
Previously had a poor VHS copy of these movies. Now I can recommend these titles without reservations. Thank you

Whilst the last episodes in the 35-year run of the series lack some of the precision of those in the 70s heyday, this set is nonetheless still fantastic fare for all Columbo fans. Admittedly "Undercover" is a slight departure from the original format - though it is entertaining and nowhere near as bad as the awful "No Time To Die" experiment earlier in the decade. But "Ashes To Ashes" and "Strange Bedfellows" can stand tall with many of the best in the entire series. There are even some better calibre guest stars than in much of the latterday series, with Patrick McGoohan, Rue McClachlan, Rod Steiger, Billy Connolly, Ed Begley Jr, George Wendt and Tyne Daly all cropping up here and there. All in all newcomers might be better off starting with some 70s episodes (I'd suggest Season 2 or Season 6/7 myself), but this is again an essential purchase for all Columbo afficiandos.

Why is this not available in the USA?

It has subtitles!
Just want everyone to know that this dvd has english subtitles. I do not understand why Amazon doesn't inform this.
