It seems ok but its too thin and too dark, top is dark and inside is black also does not have breath under arms. It is definitely not for ski more like dark city jacket for not too cold period.

I thought it would be more effective to be honest - not as warm as I was expecting. But it is made for warmth when you are being physical so I can't comment on that yet - haven't gone skiing in it, just wore it around town in the middle of winter.

Great Jacket!

I was looking for a warm, lightweight jacket for work as I'm constantly outside in less than ideal conditions. Initially I was considering purchasing Columbia's Kaleidoslope Jacket, but decided on getting a waterproof jacket instead.
The Glacial Glide is made with heavier material than the Kaleidoslope, but it IS waterproof and also offers Columbia's Omni-Heat technology. I also think it looks pretty sharp for being a waterproof jacket.
All that to say, this jacket will hold in heat, but you still will need to layer up if you're constantly outside in weather below 30 degrees.
For sizing purposes, I'm 5'6"/130 lbs and the small fits me very well, with a little bit of room for layers.
Also -- I got this jacket for $135 via Backcountry on Amazon, as opposed to $180 in stores. Great deal, great jacket!

I love this jacket!
I purchased it to replace a worn Columbia parka with a zip-out fleece liner.
I was not sure if I would like it without the liner, but I actually find it better! I did buy it slightly large to accommodate a fleece underneath, so I can add one or two layers according to the temperature...which in CO changes throughout the day and as one travels into the mountains.
I like the styling - the black is slimming and the cut is flattering. It also hides dirt well.
Highly recommended!
