I had heard of The kings Of Leon and a few others, but there were several names that were new to me. It was free so I had nothing to lose and I like samplers like these. I didn't think that Alexis Jordon would be my cup of tea but i enjoyed her track, though I don't think I would buy her album. The big surprise for me was The Mark Ronson and The Business Intl; I didn't expect to like it but found myself absolutely loving it. I definitely want to hear more of both parts of the partnership. I had heard the Foo Fighters, but still was surprised by their song, it's much more ballady than I expected. Kings of Leon, Band Of Horses & the Vaccines lived up to expectations. All people I am open to hearing more of, or maybe seeing live. The Ting Ting's 'Hands' was a bit different to the other material I'd heard from them, and not immediately identifiable, but I soon got into it. The Avett Brothers were a new name, but 'Laundry Room' is a lovely song. Lissie and Glasvegas too were very enjoyable, though the former's contribution 'When I'm Alone' I was already familiar with. I've never much cared for Manic Street Preachers, and this track did nothing to change that, but you can't win them all. All in all, an excellent sampler of what's out there on this particular label, and - just as important, I believe - it's well sequenced so that it works well as an album in it's own right. Just sit back and listen. Then go out and hear more of some of the artists represented here, because I know I am going to.
