I love the Jan Pienkowski books and so does my 1 year old daughter. The pictures in the books are simplistic yet detailed.
This book is nice as the colours are incorporated in the pictures and aren't just colour blocks i.e. for black there is a black cat so it allows you to describe the scene. However, the pages are hard for her to turn by herself so I do need to sit with her otherwise she gets frustrated. Having said that, it's hard back so is quite tough and the pages themselves, although not a board book are quite thick and durable, my girl has yet to rip any of the pages.
