When I first got this book, I didn't want to read it at all. But when I gave it a chance, it turned out to be brilliant! The story is about a half-human, half-telchine girl called Aura. When an earthquake strikes, she is sailed off to Rhodes, where the Colossus of Helios has collapsed. When she runs away from the chief priest and joins the Night Moths gang, she awakens the telchines of old. Together, they must fight off the king's army, who will stop at nothing to see Poseidon's Gift wired back up to the Colossus. The story is full of friends, powers, monsters and myths, and will appeal to anyone from 6 to 18.
