most fashion illustration books, are either outdated or concentrate on a particular artists style. this book shows you have to draw; skin tone, eyes, hair etc, loads of diffrent shoes, hats etc.. then it goes through every fabric you can possibilly image and shows you how to draw it step by step. the book is probably 2 inches thick!! its amzing buy it! if you have problems illustrating fabric so it looks like the fabric buy it!!! so so so good, it got me through my final year of uni with flying colours!!

Colours for Modern Fashion is a great add one to Nine Heads. It really shows you how you can creature texture and show such amazing colour through your illustrations. It really brings them to life, even someone who doesn't quite understand fashion like you do will understand what you trying to create! There is no point purchasing this book unless your sketching skills are up to scratch or you are using this alongside learning from Nine Heads.

I was recommended this book by the tutor on my costume course and I love it! Whilst the title might suggest it is purely for people who want to draw fashion with marker pens it actually holds a wealth of information (and hundreds of gorgeous illustrations) on drawing any figures in clothing and would be useful to a wide range of people. It includes guidance on colour combinations, composition, drawing bodies & faces and rendering a variety of fabrics and skin tones. There is even guidance on how to get the most out of the book depending on your level of previous experience. It helps to teach you not just how to make your illustrations realistic but how to make them really effective. I would heartliy recommend it.
