Well, I have just about every book Modesitt has written. I like his writing style, the pace of his storry and his darker heroes. Generally Modesitt never explicitly states what his characters are doing/feeling (he gives enough detail for us to draw our own conclusions), in all of his other books this was fine. Somehow it was a bit tired in this book. I like this world he's created, I'd like protagonists that didn't just do what the heroes in the other books did, but in a different time/place. I'll buy his next book so I suppose that says it all.
