I tried using the ColorMunki Smile to calibrate my Windows 7 Dell Laptop display. Although the software and calibration process ran smoothly, the resulting calibration profile reduced the contrast of the display significantly. Black turned into an obvious grey making photos look washed out. The colour balance was perfect but the reduction in display contrast was unacceptable. The Smile system has very simple software with no options to adjust the contrast or information as to why this was happening. I tried the Smile system on another Laptop and it worked fine, but it's not much use if you can't get two displays to match. I therefore returned it to Amazon who issued a refund. I subsequently bought the much more powerful i1 Pro (see my other review) and successfully calibrated the same Laptop display. Conclusion, if the Smile system works for you, it's simple cheap and fast. If it doesn't, then you're likely to need a more sophisticated system where you can make adjustments which just aren't possible in the Smile system software.
