Looked forward to colouring this item but it doesn't really lend itself to this as it is too small and too dark. Even increasing the pages size by copying them didn't help. An expensive lesson..............

I bought this book when I broke my ankle as I had so much time on my hands to indulge in one of my favourite hobbies! I'm an adult who loves the therapeutic activity of colouring. Great results can be achieved with even just a few basic colours with these designs. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves colouring, wanting a more religious slant. Good quality paper means felt tip pens can be used without fear of leakage through to the next page.

We recommend the book to everyone who want to enter the world of the irish monks some 1200 years ago.

I have seen this book side by side with My Book of Kells Colouring Book and examined them both carefully. The O'Brien book is much better, with clearer outlines, a more attractive choice of designs, and nice little informative notes about the subjects matter. At the end there are a series of delightful pages showing monks at work in the scriptorium.

I was buying the book for a clever child with good powers of concentration. If you want images you can use in design or artwork as an adult, the Dover publication might be more suitable, but I wasn't smitten with it.
