Review

Color Accounting™ has the advantage of showing how accounting works visually. We all tend to see problems and relationships more easily visually, so the Color Accounting approach takes advantage of how we learn most effectively. As such, I believe that it is of value to anyone who is interested in understanding how accounting works (from high school students to undergrads to MBAs to business executives). --Professor Paul Healy, Head of Accounting Department, Harvard Business School

I was intrigued by this book because of their new approach to a very tricky subject, and I am delighted to say I was not disappointed at all. I've heard about a study that says that most of the information we learn (83%) throughout our lives is actually learnt visually, and I think that is very true for me at least, I'm a lot better at understanding something when I can actually see it, and I think that is one of the great strengths of this book. It presents and explains accounting in a way I've never seen before, and one that made it much easier for me to get my head around. I feel as though I now actually get the fundamental underlying concepts that have always eluded and frustrated me, and I know what the accounting words mean now, because I understand the context in which accountants use them.
I recommend this book to anyone who wants an interesting and engaging way to learn accounting quickly.

The Color Accounting book approaches all aspects of accounting in a non-threatening way. It has allowed me for the first time to feel as though I have proper access to my balance sheets and income statements and that I now can truly understand what is on the page.

The book is a great size and is cleverly set out as it eases you into the key principles and runs you through step by step all the necessary parts which by the end left me 'seeing' and properly understand accounting.

The graphical teaching method that the Color Accounting book uses is very effective in the way that it displays visually all the subject's fundamental concepts. I found that with reading this book and seeing the way the concepts were illustrated with diagrams and graphics in a straightforward approach I am now able to say after years of pain that I'm finally 'financially literate'.

I never understood accounting at college and before discovering Color Accounting I struggled with the more traditional and uninspiring accounting books out there. This book connects with you and does its job perfectly. I can't recommend this book any higher!! Great work!!

Color Accounting is a fun way of learning accounting concepts using color and graphical descriptions. The book enables readers to visualise what happens when a business accounts for transactions, thereby deepening their understanding of the accounting process. The book introduces readers to basic concepts such as an income statment then builds on these concepts to develop more complex concepts such as analysis of balance sheets and financila results. This is an accountng text unlike any other and is highly recommended.

I found this book took great care and effort to make a complicated subject become very simple.
It's combination of simple language, focus on the basics, and the use of colour make for an easy way to grasp an otherwise complex subject....thaw framework used means I was able to start understanding finance in a way I never have before. Brilliant!

I bought the Kindle version of this book and was very pleased with it. It’s written in very simple English and prepared me very well for my university course on accounting. I’ve bought a couple of other accounting books too and what I like about this one is the colourful diagrams they use to explain the concepts. I can thoroughly recommend it.‏
