Excellent Introduction 13 Dec 2008
By Nick - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I had never read a book about creative writing before, or attended a class, so I was rather curious, and this is why I bought Alan Wall's book, recommended to me by one of his students.

The author illustrates just about all his points with examples from classics and lesser known texts. It's very readable and quite a good read. There are "exercises" called "now you do it" on the sides of most pages, and those can be inspiring as well.

So, basically, if you never read anything about creativing writing and have no experience of your own in the area, this is an excellent book to begin with. If you're more experienced/advanced, and want to focus on a specific area of creative writing, maybe this isn't for you (however, it may be worth checking it out anyway).

Reading this little book will not be a waste of time.
