5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant little guide. 8 Aug 2002
I thought this was a fab little book. It's got brilliant colour photos which are much better than drawings and you can easily find what you're looking for.

I had a spider in my garage which I found was venomous thanks to this book. I would've picked it up otherwise!

It's great for a bit of light reading and it doesn't ramble, it gets straight to the point about the basic facts of the spider.

You get more than you pay for.

Well done Collins. Another masterpiece!

As with all collins gems this is a great book. Most notable is the fact that it gives photographs with each spiders description as opposed to illustrations. It also gives good general information on spiders, tells you which are harmless and which to avoid and its is cheap.

2.0 out of 5 stars Generally disappointing 2 Nov 2001
This little book provides a cheap introduction to spiders, but as it covers only 220 species I would have preferred it to focus on UK spiders, and to use drawings as a much clearer alternative to photos.
