One problem about buying on the net is all books look the same size in the picture but this dictionary is very small and 'in colour' just means blue.

Obviously, dictionarys aren't my usual bed-time reading, so I can't tell you my 'favourite entry' (although I thought the definition for 'world' was pretty mindblowing - but I won't spoil it for you!).
Being an English Language and Literature student at college, I need something I can refer to quickly without the hassle of getting out my industrial-sized reference dictionary and ploughing through the many, many pages. This Gem dictionary does just that - its not too bulky but it is precise, which is what all dictionaries should be like.
It also has some really good features like aiding with my spelling (I've become pretty lax on that recently) and pronunciation.
So all in all its a brilliant reference guide, and, well, if your into all that reading dictionaries at bedtime then I'm sure this will be a stimulating and informative read.

Perfect size, needed to replace an old school one that had pages missing (about 30 years old) and did not want anything too heavy.

Not as good as I'd hoped

Cheap and cheerful
Really good english dictionary. Much cheaper than the one the school asked me to purchase from them it's the same thing but not the same price. Very happy!!!! Read more
