I found this book to be quite useful in some regards but to be honest, it is very far from a comprehensive guide. It is written mainly for those who eat ready made meals and offers little to those like myself that have a more simple, organic diet. My search for a decent calorie guide continues!

Good coverage of all food types but all foods are listed under 100g - which is fine when baking but not when you require 1 teaspoon or 1 slice of bread! Needs to have more common weight usages.

Any one who is thinking of dieting - STOP HERE This is the handymans guide to dieting. All weight loss classes will ask you to keep a watch on how many calories / fats / carbohydrates you eat per day - BUT they never explain to you what foods have what in them. Ask your self the question - how many calories does a breast of chicken have - how much fat ???. If you dont know you need this book.
