When you buy a collector`s book you expect to have loads of photo`s which this has but to go one better colour is better and this is what let this book down.
The info is very good but to get the right colours of medals and awards and to see them how they should be is better.
The close up`s are good but it goes back to colour pic`s are better and clearer.Just look at the front cover very clear and great for the collector, but that`s my opinion.

A Collector's Guide to German World War 2 Medals and Political Awards: The Satellite States (Collectors guide to) Really disappointing. No colour illustrations except the front cover which gives a rather false impression of what you will find inside. Interesting for someone who wants to know how the Nazi system of awards worked but not a book for a medal collector (in my view. Congratulations to the author who `knows his stuff` but I rather imagine it will gather dust on many bookshelves

Hello all, this book is about all the Axis country who were in ww2 somehow, but i know and that Portugal was one of them and does not apear in it.
I say this because there are several proofs that it was Like guns, You can see Mausers with Waffenamp and the Portugal Shields on it, The portuguese went to russian Front, dont know it it was like portuguese or incorporate in the blue divisions of spain mans i dont know if there are any medals but iam not an Historyan too. i woul like to say that it is a good subject to fallow. The Lisbon naval ports were a meeting point to spyes of several nacionalities, etc.

If someone need material about it i can only give the facts that i Know. But history is always made of who writtens it.
Good book

bits + pieces..... 26 April 2010

I think Chris Ailsby's book is okay for a basic primer but inaccuracies and lack of detail mar what otherwise could have been a ground-breaking volume on this subject. It is simply just pedestrian fare.
This product exceeded my expectations as did the price. 30 Jun. 2014

A nice book for the beginners, gives limited but still worthy information about medals and Orders of the satellite states of Germany.
