3.0 out of 5 stars Nice design, horrible execution 25 Jan 2012
By Picky CO Mom - Published on Amazon.com
I have done kits from Dimensions for over 15 years and I have to say that this was the most frustrating kit I have ever done from them. Their new way of gluing the thread into the cardboard for organization is awful. I ended up having to punch holes above the colors so I could keep everything organized while I was working on it. They are also getting skimpy with their thread counts and I ran out of 3 different colors trying to finish this. The stocking did come out nice but not without lots of cursing along the way. I think they need to revisit their improvements.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Beautiful Stocking 17 Aug 2010
By Karigan - Published on Amazon.com
This stocking took me about 4 months to make and I have a 2-1/2 year old to take care of. It turned out so well but I definitely wouldn't use the felt they send for the back. It's just not nice enough for the stocking. I use velvet instead and then line it, too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Instructions, Nice Pattern 6 Jan 2012

Pros:
Nice Pattern
Looks awesome when complete

Cons:
Background color is not stitched, its just the fabric color.

Notes:
This is a great kit and includes all the string. However, my wife was disappointed to find that the light green background in the image is not cross stitched. It is just the fabric color. She bought a similar color string to use for the background so that the entire thing is solid cross stitching. This may or may not bother you but its good to know before buying.

Final Thoughts:
Cool pattern and looks very nice once completed. May need to buy extra string for light green 'background' color.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hints to all Cross Stitch kit users... 3 Nov 2012
By Jessica L Heeber - Published on Amazon.com

Here is something I have learned from a few of these cross stitch kits that will hopefully be helpful to some of you- when you are doing the stitches, make sure that the back of your work (the "bad side") looks like this ' ' ' ' ' instead of this \\\\\. Follow the instructions carefully to keep the stitches going the right way and on these bigger projects it can make a difference in how quickly you run out of thread. Either way, it can't hurt. I too have run out of the thread that comes with the kit, and if you do, you can always go to the Dimensions website and request the additional thread colors that you will need. It takes up to 2 weeks to receive but they are very helpful and kind. Also, using masking tape on the edges is a great way to prevent fraying while you are working. You might also consider getting a more luxurious fabric like a matching velvet for the backside. All of these projects are even more beautiful in person once completed than what you see online.

Good luck and happy stitching...

5.0 out of 5 stars My Very Favorite! 17 Aug 2010
By Karigan - Published on Amazon.com
I have done three of these stockings now and this one is by far my favorite!! It's so detailed! There isn't a single blank square and it is so beautiful!! It took me around 6 months to complete but I had a 1 year old and I was pregnant again and didn't feel like working on it as much as I could have. I finished it off with a green velvet back and and nice cream liner instead of using the felt that they send with it. That's just not nice enough for all of the work you put into it. It's absolutely beautiful!!
