In the realm of popular music, few keyboard players have matched the success and longevity of Geoffrey Downes. The Buggles. Yes. Asia. With well over ten million album sales to his credit, Downes has continued to make his presence known on the music scene for well over twenty years. But aside from co-writing Video Killed The Radio Star¹ and Heat of the Moment - two of the most successful singles in history, he has established himself as a creative solo artist in his own right.

In an effort to chart some new ground, Downes changed direction on his solo outing, EVOLUTION. Instead of new compositions, covers of classic rock tracks were the order of the day.

1999 found the keyboardist finally coming full circle with the release of THE WORLD SERVICE; the long awaited proper follow-up to THE LIGHT PROGRAMME. Consisting of instrumental tracks only this time out, the new solo album again paid homage to the BBC broadcasting of Downes' childhood.

In 2002 as time permitted, he has begun work on yet another solo project-SHADOWS & REFLECTIONS.

Geoff Downes’ Collection is a compilation of his greatest tracks spanning a 25-year solo career. Including sleeve notes by acclaimed Asia writer Dave Gallant and a couple of unreleased tracks; this is the perfect introduction to one of rocks finest keyboard players with a stunning pedigree.
