3.0 out of 5 stars Covers very basic amount of Carltonware 11 Jun 2002
Format:Paperback
I purchased this book as i was just getting into carltonware products. The book covers all aspects of Carltonware produced that can be identified. As I was interested in saladware/dinnerware i found it was lacking in this aspect. It is a useful guide for general carltonware but is lacking in the amount available that can be found. As a reference guide i would not recommend it for a serious collecter as it does not feature a lot of the products available.

By A Customer
Format:Paperback
I have this book and whilst i recomend it i find it to be only half written....the research is incomplete and many patterns exist which are not covered by this book...i am at present looking for a more comprehensive book on carlton ware....i recomend you buy this as a starter but dont expect it to have all the answers because it won't !

4.0 out of 5 stars New research required 22 Dec 2000
Format:Paperback
Although this book is limited in it's content it represents the best information available at this time and is the only book on this subject that exists. Carltonware pattern books are lost and David Serpell has made a first attempt at bringing together a little of the available information. There is a desperate need for some ambitious researcher to continue this work.

By silverprincess - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This book is a must if you are into collecting or selling Carltonware. There are lots of coloured photographs showing most of the patterns . The book has been a great help in identifying patterns so that I can descibe them accurately when selling on ebay. I recommend this book to anyone interested in Carltonware.

This book is filled with really wonderful color photos of Carlton Ware, some of which are really rare. Thoroughly enjoyable, and a fine reference for collectors.
