Product Description

Since May 1992 when Collecting Beswick: A Guide to Horses, Ponies and Foals was first published, a number of significant changes have occurred relating to Beswick equine models. Various discoveries have been made of previously unknown versions and colourways; some of the models not illustrated in the book have been found; further models have been discontinued from the Beswick range; a new model was issued in 1994 to celebrate the John Beswick centenary and the Beswick Collectors Circle commissioned a second model especially for its members. This Supplement and price Guide contains details of these discoveries and changes so that when it is used in conjunction with Collecting Beswick: A Guide to Horses, Ponies and Foals a comprehensive and up to-date picture can be obtained of the equine models produced by the John Beswick factory. The Supplement and price Guide consists of three sections: supplemental information, price listings, and colour illustrations. The supplemental information is arranged in model number sequence and details are given of how the information has changed relating to that particular model. The price information which follows the supplemental information has been completely revised since the first price list was published in June 1993, and price information on some of the rarer colourways, such as blue gloss and dark chestnut gloss, is now included; prices are also given for the "versions and colourways described in the supplemental information. When comparing the prices with those given in the first edition of the price Guide, there has been movement both up and down for the more common colourways however, models in the rarer colourways, such as rocking horse grey, have shown dramatic increases. Following the price information is a selection of colour illustrations which show some of the newly discovered colourways, the new versions and the new introductions.
