I should have added.... and the most difficult to get back!
Roger Harrison has been involved in Organisational Development (OD) since before the phrase was invented.
If you are involved in the OD world, you owe Roger a huge debt, whether you are aware of it or not. This book, containing 24 papers covering the full scope of OD, reveals the size of that debt.
Some of the papers have become required reading in the field. Others were pioneers in their area. For example, many of us became aware of Organisational Culture when Roger started writing about it in the early '70s.
The beauty of trhis book is twofold: firstly, the papers can be read without having to delve into the archives of the journals in which they originally appeared. Secondly, although some of the papers are now 40 years old, they are as fresh and relevant today as they were when written.
My only sadness is that if we had acted on the suggestions in these papers when they were first released, many organisations and their people would be far healthier than they are at present.
I have over 100 books on OD and reelated issues... this is one of the few that I would consider to be a must have!
