from small to big and back again,

This is a funny little book, that gives you a lot of good ideas if you live in a small apartement, and is a good help if you are thinking about designing furnitures etc.

Not just a design album, this book is also sort of a history book that looks at how collapsibles have evolved since their existence. There are hundreds of examples included from different eras. Even older designs look great because of the level of creativity involved in creating them. These designs included foldable bikes, chairs, lamps, ladders and many more. All are categorized by their collapsibility principles. Some of the most common ones include folding like a directors chair, or hinging in a pocket knife. Each example is captioned to explain the idea, functionality and history behind. This is a very interesting book. Visit my Amazon profile for other reviews.

Beautiful book, but beware of multiple publishers,

This review is from: Collapsibles: A Design Album of Space-saving Objects (Paperback)
This is a beautiful book full of photos that trace the history of collapsible design.
That being said, I didn't realize until after I purchased it from a seller in the UK that it is the same book I already purchased from a seller in the US, only with a slightly different title, from a different publisher. Aside from the cover and title, these books are exactly the same. It appears this book has been published by at least three different publishers, each with slightly different titles, so beware: "Collapsibles: A Design Album of Space-saving Objects" by Thames & Hudson, Ltd. "Collapsible: The Genius of Space-saving Design" by Diane Pub Co "Collapsible: The Genius of Space-saving Design" by Chronicle Books 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful:
