Whilst I agree to a point with other reviews on here, I have to say I really enjoyed this book because it gave me permission to PLAY!! The authors enthusiasm for her art bursts from every page, readers are encouraged to think of art as they did as a child, to just relax and play with whatever mediums takes their fancy, crayons, paints, doodles, stamps, stencils, wax, heat, stitch etc, just putting colour onto paper/fabric or whatever and go with it! Yes, some of the techniques are childlike, and yes, she does use the work FUNKY all the time, but overall this is a great book for releasing the inner child in us all.

I had already been aware of Traci Bautista's work from youtube etc and came across her book on her website. I checked on Amazon and there it was, at a good price too. So inspirational and creative. Lots of prompts and ideas to experiment with. Sometimes I thought the step by step instructions could have been clearer but who cares, it's about getting marks down on paper and having a good time creatively and the book encourages the reader to do so. Lovely book and would highly recommend it.

Although this book had a few good ideas I found the overuse use of the word "Funky" exceedingly irritating and repetitive. Some of the processes in the book were not very clearly explained.

Brilliant
Fantastic book, lots of art journal style techniques, highly recommend to anyone interested in art journals, mixed media projects etc. Lots of colour and inspiration.
