Biography

There has never been mistaking Sinead O’Connor for anybody else. A voice born to break as many hearts as windows, as tender as it is lethal. The face, simultaneously that of ocean-wide-eyed angel and shaven-headed warrior queen. And the spirit, courageous in its conviction, undaunted by controversy and fortified with endless reserves of resilience. Sinead O’Connor is that rare thing in popular… Read more in Amazon's Sinead O'Connor Store

Product Description

Album Description

An outstanding line-up of guest artists makes Sinéad O'Connor's Collaborations an essential album. Huge names, such as U2, Terry Hall and Moby, join Sinéad on this eminently cohesive and listenable collection of tracks. Standout moments include Massive Attack featuring on "Special Cases", Jah Wobble on "Visions of You", The The on "Kingdom of Rain" and Peter Gabriel on "Blood of Eden".

What a pleasure it is to see the music business make a compilation that makes sense! Sinead O'Connor has done some of the best collaborations I've ever heard - from the haunting Heroine with The Edge to Special Cases with Massive Attack, some of these tracks would feature in my Top 20 tracks of ALL-TIME!
So it's great to see so many hard to get tracks from such a a variety of sources put together.
It's a small pity that Massive Attack's Prayer for England and the 14 minute Lord Baker with Christy Moore didn't squueze on as well, but that's a small gripe about an excellent addition to the discography of Ireland's best female artist ever and one of the most important artists of the past few decades.

The only thing that strings all of these great songs together is Sinead O'Connors beautiful voice.

There are some truly uplifting greats here with Jah Wobbles 'Visions of You', Moby's 'Harbour' and Damian Dempseys 'It's all Good' being the best examples here. It is possible that you won't like all of the songs first time round. I didn't, and I'm a great fan of her voice. But the one thing that really struck me about this album was the diversity of the songs and how this remarkable woman can lend her voice to almost anything and still sound fantastic.

Great stuff. And an absolute must for Sinead completists.

This album is fantastic.Sinead is one of the best singers and sonwriters of modernity... but where are the 2 songs that she performed with Pink Floyd's Keybordist Rick Wright for his 1996 solo album Broken China?"Breakthrough" and "Reaching for the Rail" are fantastic tunes that David Gilmour himself claimed that could had fit in a Pink Floyd album....
