3.0 out of 5 stars Not as bad as all that!!!, 12 Sep 2009
By Aremess "Aremess" (Littlehampton, UK) - See all my reviews
Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
Yes, the first time I tried this game, I found it almost impossible to stay on the track. However, persevere and you'll get better. I suggest you do not keep your finger/thumb on the accelerator all the time, but keep giving it quick and repeated 'bursts' and, like with real rallying, anticipate the corners, don't wait till the last moment before turning. Also can't see much difference in the car handling with using the handbrake compared to the full brakes. One other word of advice - keep well away from the edges where there is a drop-off, I virtually guarantee, with the response delays of the handset/wheel, you'll go over the edge.

As with another reviewer, I hope that the forthcoming F1 game is not like this one, at 200mph you need the car to do what you want when you want.

2.0 out of 5 stars Dissapointing driving game, 9 Nov 2009
By A. Davis (London, UK) - See all my reviews

Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
I sold my copy of Need for Speed in order to get this, and now I wish I'd kept NFS instead.
I found the visuals to be poor in terms of Wii standards and the driving experience was sadly lacking.

I found the controls unresponsive and sluggish at times which would lead to me crashing, and then it would suddenly be all over the shop.
It is also annoying that the driving directions are so poor, on many other rally games you get a decent icon telling what the next corner is like, on this you are lucky to get a poor map representation.

Overall this lacks fun and staying power, I'll be swapping it for something else soon.
I cannot in all good faith recommend this game.

this game is a disgrace and should never have been allowed to use colin mcrae's name. the graphics are absolutely terrible, even by the wii's standards, and its almost impossible to control. save your money and buy v-rally for your dusty ps2 in your cupboard

great graphics and playability - only downside is that I am managing to progress through the levels too easily meaning it will soon outlive its usefulness.
