COLIN BLANSHARD WITHERS was born in the (formerly) Lancashire town of Barrow-in-Furness in 1950 and attended the local Grammar School. In 1986 he graduated from Cranfield Institute of Technology with an MSc, and in 1989 was awarded an MBA from the Cranfield School of Management.
Colin has worked in Europe, the Middle East and the Far East in the field of Satellite Communications. Colin's principal pursuit has always been genealogy and local history.
A founder member of the Blanc/shard Family History Society, he became a prolific writer for his Society's Journal, AdversariA, and authored several books on behalf of his Society on such subjects as Probate Records, Census Records and St. Catherine's House.
Colin also maintains a One-Place Study website for the parish of Bubwith in the East Riding of Yorkshire, at www.bubwith.net
His current list of published books include "Yorkshire Parish Registers" (available from Amazon) and "Yorkshire Probate" (available from www.yorkshireancestors.co.uk/yorkshire-probate-by-colin-blanshard-withers-36-p.asp). He also wrote an unpublished booklet "The 1834 Electoral Roll of the East Riding"
He is now actively working on his next book.
