Philidelphia soul/R&B in a Japanese package from The Stylistics. The tracks seem to concentrate on their late 60s, early 70s period. "Shame and Scandal in the Family" is still a funny number and I think I enjoyed the second half of the CD more than the first. Other favorites would be the very soulful "People Make the World Go Round" with a music track that plays like a hip soundtrack to an early 70s cop show. You can hear how the Philly sound would later or simultaneously influence the disco sound in songs like "You Make Me Feel Brand New", and "I'm Stone In Love With You". Overall this is a mellow listen, occasionally over-simplistic for my taste (Curtis Mayfield, it is not) though with enough rays of sunshine poking through to make it still a better than average hits selection cd..
