Dissappointed with this pen as I was really looking forward to receiving it.Nicely weighted and perfect writing balance but the ink flow is far too rapid, blotching and ruining my work! Also, if I hold it in the down position too long ie if I am thinking before writing something, the ink continues to flow and I have to blot.
The pen looks good and the nib is smooth, although not as smooth as the Parker I have. Also it arrived with only one cartridge, rather stingy!Coles Deluxe Carbon Fibre Fountain Pen

I wanted a new fountain pen to replace an old one, and to start using an ink pen again just for the sake of it.

This is a full size mans pen. The complete pen is heavy, obviously being made entirely of metal and then covered with a layer of carbon fibre. I like the look of the shiney chequered finish. The ends, banding and clip are all of heavy chrome. The cap unscrews and can then be screwed onto the pen body - not just a push on. I find that the chrome nib works very well and the whole pen is really easy to write with.
It is much better than I expected, for what is a comparatively cheap fountain pen.
I have only given it 4-stars because it comes with a single ink cartridge and without a refillable ink adaptor. I had to buy this separately.

I like its solid feel and looks, and it writes really well - no more to say really.

Bought for approx £15, this pen looks more expensive. Arrives very well packaged in a smart case. Barel has a black 3d type finish (smooth to the touch but with the carbon-fibre effect visible below) - pen is finished in shiny chrome. Top screws on (there is also a screw on the reverse end, so you can have the top screwed on while writing if you prefer. Nicely balanced with iridium nib made in Germany. Takes standard refills (one in nib and room for a spare in the barrel) which are widely available at any stationery store in UK. All in all it looks very smart and has features (like the screw top) that are usually found in higher cost pens. Is heavy (again, like a more expensive pen) and is well balanced. Writes well. For the price, excellent value -would make an excellent gift.

This pen is definitely to avoid!
First of all, the "carbon fiber" is all a lie. The pen is made of medium quality plastic, with a "carbon fiber" imitation pattern. I am a fan of heavy pens, but this pen is not "good" heavy, like a Mont Blanc or a Waterman, it is heavy like a cheap Taiwanese knock-off (which it is, after all). SO, the pen is extremely heavy, it feels like you carry a knife or something in your pocket, the screw on the cap makes an awful sound when you cap the pen (like "rusty metal on rusty metal"), and the tip is totally different from the glorious white-and-gold tip in the picture. In fact, the only good thing about this pen is the picture on the website, which makes it look exquisite, which, in fact, is not. Instead of paying top photographers, maybe they invest in quality control next time...And, by the way, everibody uses carbon fiber to make objects lighter. What would be the point in having carbon fiber (which the pen does not, anyway)if you add a ton of iron and make the whole heavy as hell? And, some more, the plastic on the cap really falls off the metallic part. All in all, DO NOT BUY!!!

This pen was all that I hoped it would be. Comfortable, smooth and with a classic look. It has an extended chamber where you can store an extra ink cartridge which makes up for the fact that it only uses the smaller cartridges.
I have not had one spillage or drop of ink come out of the end which has been a problem for me with other pens.
Its weight also gives the impression that it is worth far more than what I paid.

All round, a great pen with hopefully many years of writing left in it.

I've been using this pen now for a couple of months and I like it. It has a screw on top which is more secure than a push on, and the top will also screw onto the other end when in use, should you want to. It uses short cartridges, not the parker style.
The feel of a pen is subjective, but it feels good to me. The finish is good, and it doesn't feel like a cheap pen (I only paid £14 for it).

Good to write with and nicely weighted, perhaps even a bit too heavy. I would have prefered a softer nib, but now it's broken in it's just fine. Takes a universal ink cartridge.

Brought the Cole fountain pen a few days ago it is a great piece of kit. Chunky stylish and with a weighty feel which I like. Also brought some of the advised ink cartridges. THEY DO NOT FIT. This pen takes short cartridges only so save your money and time and ensure you only buy short cartridges.
