Product Description

Product Description

Surround yourself in softness; the Hampton™ 220 has been designed with luxury and comfort in mind. From the extra-large dimensions right through to the use of the plush insulation and cosy fabrics, each element combines to provide the perfect sleeping environment to promote a more relaxing night’s sleep. A versatile design, it can be opened out fully to be used as a duvet and provide a more home-like feel at the campsite. The durable cotton shell combined with the supersoft flannel lining are breathable, warm to touch and comfortable, however, it’s the use of Coleman’s unique Coletherm® insulation which really contributes to the plush feel of this sumptuous bag. The insulation efficiently traps air in the hollow fibres to retain body heat, providing improved loft and better warmth retention. The ZipPlow prevents zipper snags by ploughing fabric away from the zipper coil, avoiding material snags and zipper teeth damage. Folds neatly into a square, vented polyester bag with carry handle. 2 bags can be zipped together. Sleeping Bag category Winner 2011 in the 'Camping Magazine Awards'

I recently treated myself to this sleeping bag as our little boys were wanting to go camping. I hate the "mummy" style sleeping bags with a passion as I always wake up in a panic thinking that I'm being strangled...so I wanted a more roomy sleeping bag that would accommodate my 6'2" frame better and hopefully give me a better nights sleep.

The colour of the sleeping bag isn't much to write home about. It's a kind of greeny/brown colour - very earthy and great if you want to be camouflaged outdoors I suppose! Now this sleeping bag definitely isn't for you if you need to carry it around on your back or if you've very limited space in your car as it's really big - even when packed up tightly in it's bag! The bag is very handy and we got it back into it easily, but when it's packed up it still measures approximately 47x40x21cm and weighs 2.75kg!

If you do have enough space in your car and don't have to lug this beast around much then I would highly recommend it. It's a rectangular design, rather than getting smaller towards the feet, and it measures 220x100cm so it's very roomy. It feels really soft and luxurious and kept me very warm and I did not feel restricted at all. The sleeping bag can be unzipped all the way round so you can use it like a duvet...but there was no way my other half was getting her mitts on this lovely sleeping bag and stealing all of it in the night, so it remained zipped up!! I have to say that I had a great nights sleep in this and I guess the best recommendation that I can give you is that my other half was so jealous that we're having to purchase another one for her!

I tried one of the mummy bags first, as I heard they were warmest, but it just felt weird being so enclosed that I took it back and replaced it with one of these. Soooo glad I did!

The bag is bigger than it looks, and made of the softest cotton it is lovely to touch and sleep in. If you can't get to a camping shop to feel them in person, they are as soft as any quilt cover I've tried, and should be good for 3 season camping. It was just about warm enough in September in the Lakes, but I think that is about the limit. I'm going camping in April, so I will probably take a quilt too. I wouldn't replace this for the world, though. If space is a problem, you can always keep a sweatshirt by your bed in case you wake up cold. They look a little "military" in the photo, but they have a diamond pattern inside and don't look too "GI Joe" in person....

I heard someone had a problem using them with a washing machine. There are machine instructions (they are small, and you'll need to search out the symbols). It seemed to weigh such a lot when wet, though, that I just handwash mine in the bath. If you do this with a small amount of washing liquid I can assure you there is no problem.

I've used it all winter at home. It is so soft and comfy, it is perfect for snuggling up into in my recliner with a cup of coffee and a film! )) The ultimate treat! I can't recommend them enough.

Update: after camping in early April, I did need an extra duvet so if space is a problem you're probably better with something warmer. I was warm, though, with this and a basic 10.5 tog duvet from the supermarket and the rest of the year this beats a synthetic bag hands down.

We bought two sleeping bags for use in our caravan for winter camping. They are brilliant. Really warm. Very well constructed. We bought these particular bags for their oversize dimensions which proved to be perfect. You can stretch out without feeling constricted.

This is the best sleeping bag ever. You can have it wide open as a duvet cover. Or as a sleeping bag. Loads of room inside. Lovely cotton feel.
Recommend this highly.

I have been happily sleeping in Colemans all my life so when I saw this price, I jumped at it. I was very disappointed to see that the stuffing of the sleeping bag comes out through the lining -- not even in use, but -- so to speak -- factory pre-made: I opened the package and found the sleeping bag covered with longish white cotton-like threads. I am not sure whether this product is indicative of a general decline in Coleman quality, or is a one off fluke -- in the past, my Colemans have lasted a decade or more, so it has been some time since I bought one.

Bought this item to replace one of those awful mummy sleeping bags - It was great very warm, comfortable and sooo much space inside. You felt like you were in bed with your warm quilt over you. The rest of the family had one of those awful Mummy sleeping bags and was very jealous of me, as I was always Hot even when the temperature dropped during the night. Would definatley recommend for any adult 6ft tall looking for a roomie Sleeping Bag.

By far the best sleeping bag I have owned, I bought two for a camping trip with my partner last year and we both loved them.

The bag is very spacious, a lot wider and longer than most others. The material is very soft against your skin and kept us very warm in rainy conditions (in July though...).

The best part, it can be unzipped completely flat to use like a duvet, but nobody else has mentioned that you can zip two together as a 'double sleeping bag'. This gives great value over buying a dedicated double bag.

The only complaint that could be made is that it is quite bulky when packed into the included bag, a non issue for me but may be unsuitable to this that travel light.
