5.0 out of 5 stars Coleman Cobra 2 14 Jun 2012

This tent is excellent value for money and was delivered in three days.
I used it last week on the Dales Way and it stood up to the heavy rain with no problems.
It is extremely simple to put up and on the second morning i took it down inner frst, which I packed separately
as it had rained all night. There is plenty of storage, wet boots and rucksac in one side, rest of my gear in the other. I bought better pegs before I left as the ones supplied didn't look too strong and I wasn't going to take any chances on the tops. I would recommend this lightweight tent, you can pay 200 pounds more for one a pound lighter but it's cheaper just to lose a pound in weight before your trip.

5.0 out of 5 stars Coleman Cobra 2 12 Nov 2011
This is a small lightweight tent that packs up into a small carrier made of the same material as the tent. The tent is exceptionally easy to put up and takes around five minutes to fully set up. Despite its small pack size it has ample room for two and kit. Work out your storage and stick to it. I'am 5'8" and I've had no problems, its perfect for me. Tent pegs are alloy and more than adequate for the job. After market titanium pegs will save a little more room and weight. This has been used for wild camping and has accomodated myself and two dogs, a Vizsla and a Pointer. Has remaind water proof and the low profile helps in strong winds.
I ordered this in the afternoon and recived it the following day. I was also e-mailed by the courier who gave a delivery time which they kept to. Packaging first class and the service can't be faulted.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good tent for it's bargain price. 16 Jun 2011
By painek
I bought this tent because I was in a crunch planning for a camping vacation. The other tent that I had sprung a leak after I set it up to check it out. When I went inside to have a cup, my daughter went Psycho and started poking holes through the tent multiple times with a stake. I did not have enough to send it off to get it fixed so I bought this. I received the tent and went into the garden to practice setting it up (daughter now named "tentkiller" was at the kindergarten". I was surprised at how easy it was. The inner shell is attached inside with quick release clips and does not have to be set up separately. The poles (2) go through a webbing that is outside the shell of the tent. I think this is really clever because the poles contacting the tent will not be a potential leak point. The stakes go in the front and back inner and outer shell straps. Stake the sides. Stake the ropes. That's it, Bobs your uncle. Start to finish was 6 minutes after the third practice. The tent is roomy on the inside for two people and cozy for two. My wife is on the smaller side so I do think it would be tight for two husky people. The storage area on the entrance is large enough for the shoes and a daypack. The storage on the other side is large enough for the 70 litre pack. Unfortunately, it does not come with a ground sheet for these areas so if it was wet you would have to have a bag or other waterproof item to set your packs on. Dis-assembly was just as easy and fit into the compression bag that it came in. The tent is relatively light, 1.4 kg, and small if packed right. I am happy.
+ Light
+ Easy setup
+ External frame
+ small when packed
- no ground clothe for storage areas
- stakes are a bit flimsy
- guy line locks bend easy

Hope this review helps.

5.0 out of 5 stars proper tidy 14 July 2011
By LTmini
very lightwieght very compact
really nice aluminium poles and pegs creating an all round feel that i was well thought of
bad point for me is that the bottom pole is a bit tight even on the far out rings and i keep feeling like i'm going to break it
apart form that a great tent with handy extra pegs and repair kit.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent 8 Oct 2011
very pleased with this...tried three man version first but it was huge...two man a squash for two but great for one person. lightweight, very well built, good quality 'canvas' and poles. Pegs a bit lethal on the hands when trying to extract but very light and very sturdy. Surprisingly large storage area on one side and plenty of room on other for boots etc.. Very easy to put up in the dark which is a bonus. Considering you need to pay another few hundred pound for a tent that is half a kilo lighter, this an absolute bargain!

5.0 out of 5 stars Astonishing Value! 15 July 2012
By ColinR

When my old faithful Force 10 finally gave up the ghost after nearly 30 years I set myself a budget of 200 to replace it as I do use my one man tent a lot. I researched extensively until I stumbled across the Coleman cobra 2 at less than 60.00. It had rave reviews so I decided to give it a shot and what a good decision it was. It's not the lightest tent nor the quickest to put up and it is also not a 2 man but it's pretty good. You can get the weight under 2kg, with practice takes about 6 minutes to put up and if I am going with my wife I will take my bigger tent. The Coleman goes up fly first and you can stow it so that it goes up with the tent already attached if you anticipate rain at the end of the day. It's simple, robust, stable in winds so far up to F5 and completely waterproof in it's one night of prolonged heavy rain. There is tons of room in the porches for kit and plenty of space inside to be comfortable. The groundsheet appears solid although I always use a bit of tarp as a protector anyway. I like the side entry, the half ventilation door and pockets inside for torch etc. If I was to be picky I would say that its a pain that the tent and fly should use separate pegs but actually 4 extra pegs are not going to break my back. Pegs are good but eat your fingers - use one reversed to pull out the others.
Of course it remains to be seen if the Coleman will last me for the next 30 years but for under 60.00 I think this is an outstanding product.
