Why has Beki Bondage never achieved the glorious heights her potential and effort have deserved? Difficult one to answer, maybe she's just too stuborn, refusing to change from her origional punk roots. She could have been a Rock/Metal Queen, Beki & The Bombshells proved that they were capable of greatness equal to the rock giants. Their demo tapes are unreleased rock/pop classics. But alas with little interest and no money, back to the punk rock heyday of Vice Squad they have returned. They are now doing well in Europe & America with this back to basics rehash tact. I feel cheated, not by the band but the apathy of the media & crowds Beki has faced in her & Paul Rooney's developing career.
This CD is a collection of covers sung by the first lady of punk herself. It's a collection of early rock hit tunes from various bands from the 60's, early seventies and eighties. I'm not a fan of covers and this album is no exception, just adequate reworkings of some good songs.
Hell Raiser by Sweet being the best on this pretty boring collection.
If only The Bombshells had released an album, 'Appetite For Destruction' might have had some competition.
However, I'm not kicking the baby out of the bathwater yet, Beki will never give up, Beki will never grow old, and you just never know - world domination is but one great album & image change away!
