Read all the Nicholas Sparks books? 17 May 2006
By Mary Rice - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback
I was heartbroken when I finished the last Nicholas Sparks book. I wanted to read more or something similar, so after wondering through the pages of Amazon I came across Curtiss Ann Matlock's Cold Tea on a Hot Day. It was just what I was looking for! After reading the book, I fell in love with the author and have continued reading her works. If you want a good easily-read romance, this is the one! It was so good that I read it for six hours the first day I received it! If you are a romance novel junkie like myself, read COLD TEA ON A HOT DAY!

Refreshing 14 Dec 2005
By Annie - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback
Marilee James is a single mother of a special needs son and also the caretaker for her sisters daughter. She works at the local paper but has no real direction in her life. She has spent years dating the local veterinarian and is having trouble making that final commitment to get married to him. There is something that keeps holding her back and until Tate Holloway, the new editor of the paper comes to town she is not sure what her reasons may be.

In a simple book about romance, friendship, and family Curtiss Ann Matlock takes us to Valentine, Oklahoma and brings us a story you wont soon forget. If you are a fan of southern fiction or are looking for a good clean read, then Cold Tea On A Hot Day is just what you need. Also, there is a follow up book At The Corner of Love and Heartache.

Refreshing, full of earthy wisdom 17 Sep 2002
By Marion - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback Verified Purchase
This is the perfect, relaxing read for a hot Indian Summer day. I loved the simple, uncomplicated characters and the down home plot which revolved around Marilee, her mentally challenged son and niece with just the right amount of romance thrown in for good measure. If you're looking for a well-written 'feel good' book, then this is the one for you. I was eager to read the sequel when I got to the happy ending.....

Cold Tea was wonderful for Me 10 Sep 2003
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback
Curtiss Ann Matlock writes as though she lived the lives in this book. She writes from the heart and not the garbage that sells a cheap paperback. Instead many characters have interaction. She walks through the life of a caring and dependable newspaper woman named Marilee that not only has a handicapped child but also the life of her young niece in her hands. I enjoyed this book for it also had the characters being dependent upon God and knowing He is real in their lives.

I Love the Town of Valentine! 13 April 2003
By Catherine B. Mitchell - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback Verified Purchase
Reminiscent to me of Jan Karon's Mitford books, it's a pleasure to curl up and visit the people you know in the town of Valentine. I read Driving Lessons first and loved it and this one didn't disappoint either. I'm looking forward to reading At the Corner of Love and Heartache.
