Two women are found dead three weeks apart. One, the daughter of a police officer, the other of a local gangland boss. Although they are from very different backgrounds, as the investigation into their murders unfolds, it appears there is a link between them. It is up to Detective Sergeant Laura McGanity and local news reporter Jack Garrett to stop a killer before he chooses his next victim...

The 5th Novel in the McGanity/Garrett does not disappoint. Fast paced and well written.

Neil White has created a deftly skilled crime fiction novel. The McGanity/Garrett series is fast becoming good enough to be ranked alongside the Tom Thorne series by Mark Billingham and Val McDermid's Tony Hill series. It may be the 5th book in the series, but it can be read as a standalone novel. However, I would recommend reading the other books available to get a truer outlook on the story.

Couldn't put it down! 12 July 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I couldn't put this down and was gripped from the first page to the last. Definitely a bargain buy and I can see why it is Amazon's best-seller in this genre. This is a great British crime thriller with excellent central characters and an intriguing plot that keeps you wanting to read on. After reading the predecessors in this series I wasn't disappointed and can't wait for the next .If you haven't read them then you're definitely missing out!

Good story but
seemed to lack conviction towards the end. For a reporter Jack certainly gets up to some heroic stuff but I find it a tad unbelieveable. Read more
