Product Description

Product Description

After many years in Scotland Yard's Bloc-Busters Squad, Rob Trent has returned home to Bournemouth to start again. He soon finds himself in at the deep end trying to turn the tide of serious crime at the seaside.

After vicious muggers are murdered, police fear that a vigilante may be interpreting the Criminal Justice Act in his own unique way. Can they bring him to book, or will he disappear off the page into the annals of Bournemouth folklore?

A website map points police to the graves of several young women, missing since the 1970s. Do they have the geo-spatial awareness to seek out the source, or do they wait for more X’s to mark the spot?

Disgraced ex-MP, Augustus Tremayne reports his wife missing but his concerns seem almost too genuine. Almost as if he’s trying to disguise a motive for her murder.

When a surfer resorts to burglary to fund repairs to his VW split-screen bus he discovers that life's not always a beach, it can be a bitch as well. Especially when the house he robbed belongs to a sociopathic villain called, Terrence Trubshawe.

Trent wants to be left alone but Roslyn Marnie is determined to fill the gap in his love-life, especially now she's working alongside him in CID. Can Wyn James come to his rescue by falling in love with her?

4.0 out of 5 stars A great read but needs better proof reading! 6 Oct 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I enjoyed this book, as I did the one before (24 hours from Tulse Hill). Well crafted plots but it needs better punctuation and a good proof reader generally. Would have scored 5 stars otherwise.

5.0 out of 5 stars Even better than the first book! 14 Nov 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I was happy to see this as I loved the author's first novel (24 Hours From Tulse Hill) and I have to say that this is even better. Handled well and I was never confused with what was happening at any time. The character of Rob Trent is a great invention and there is no reason why this series could run and run and the clever and funny dialog is almost ready made for TV.

As in the first book, the action takes place in and around Bournemouth which adds another sense of realism for anybody familiar with the area but this familiarity is by no means necessary for the reader's enjoyment.

All in all I think this is the better of the two books and although this book can be read without reading the first book I would recommend that 24 Hours From Tulse Hill is read first as it gives a bit of background to the charecters. A top effort and I look forward to reading more soon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Characters 18 Feb 2014

According to the product description this appears to be the same as "24 Hours from Tulse Hill" from the same author, except for the setting. This book is set in Sweden and the other is in the UK.
I like the characters and the story is well crafted. The characters are likeable and believeable. A little editing is required.
