In series one, each couple experiences some form of difficulty over pregnancy and childbirth, while the temptation of adultery is never far away. In series two Rachel (Helen Baxendale) and Adam (James Nesbitt) have split up, putting their friends in an awkward position. Series three sees Karen (Hermione Norris) and David (Robert Bathurst) struggling to cope with their new children, Jenny (Fay Ripley) and Pete (John Thomson) coming to terms with Pete's adultery and Rachel and Adam getting back together. In series four Adam loses his job and the couple face financial ruin. In the final series a tragedy brings all the friends back together.

I watched this first when it came on our television screens and loved every moment. I couldn't wait for the next week or the next series. I am enjoying every moment again. The acting, the characters, the plot, the scenario are all superb. There is nothing I could fault with this series. It hasn't dated that much. It could still be today. For anyone who has never come across 'Cold Feet' and likes drama with a humerous edge I can not recommend better. It was supposed to be an answer to 'Friends' but it also answers 'Thirtysomething' for those who remember that show and I think is closer to that drama but with the redeeming humour and reality that is lost in some US tv programmes.

I never saw Cold Feet on television since I had already left the UK when it was shown. I originally borrowed the pilot from a friend simply because I was intrigued by the idea of Hermione Norris in a comedy role. My curiosity has been amply rewarded. The writing is brilliant - Mike Bullen can swing you from tears to laughter and vice versa within seconds. I rarely laugh out loud at TV comedy, but I did when watching this. The acting is outstanding. All the actors are excellent, although to be fair I think Norris is in a class of her own; by series 4 and 5 she had all but stolen the show. I believe the Marsdens were supposed to be minor characters at the beginning; I notice that by the end of the series they had far more screen time, and deservedly so. Robert Bathurst also did a fine job of turning what was almost a caricature in the early stages into a fully-rounded and appealing character.

Absolutely superb, and worth watching over and over again.

Bought this DVD having missed bits of the original series back in the 90s. To re-watch this has been great. It will make you laugh and cry. My teenage daughter has really enjoyed it. Excellent actors and great storylines. Would recommend it to all.

Every so often there is a tv programe that comes along and really steals the audience. At the age of 14, cold feet did exactly that to me! I was hooked from the pilot through the years to the very last episode. Cold feet for those who havent experienced the superb writing gives you such a fast variety of emotions. Laughter, anger and sadness are some of the experiences on the journey through the series.

This briliantly written and acted series should of recieved more acclaim. All I can say is if you havent yet experienced it, I urge you to do so. For under £18, you havent got a reason not too!

I was a big fan of Cold Feet when it first aired on the television years ago. It was fantastic to re-visit the diverse characters and the many social issues, which were so cleverly explored,in this funny and hugely entertaining series. I'm sure that anyone who watches the trials and tribulations of the various inter-twining characters, will recognise that the series, brilliantly, reflected contemporary social themes.
I never tire of re-watching the series, again and again. I strongly recommend it.

i happened to come across this series by picking up a video in a charity shop, it was cold feet series 3. i had never seen it before, but thought it's all in a good cause, (that kind of thing), i enjoyed it so much i went out and bought the whole set in dvd's, it's like an english version of "friends" which i also happen to like. but without the canned laughter. it raises more normal issues that a relationship brings, but with good humour in mind. i totally enjoyed the set and would recommend the full series to "anyone" in a relationship who enjoys a good laugh.
