This is the second of Ms Rowson's novels I have read - the first {Tide of Death) took me by surprise with its twists and turns (never mind the ending!) so this time I thought 'I'm ready for this - I will work it out before all is revealed.' Alas, I failed again. So the challenge is now upon me - can I find out the mysteries of her next book before she reveals all?

I bought a few of these books for my husband as we are local to the area in which they are set. He felt none of the stories had any backbone, lacked excitement and were extremly predictable. The only reason he finished each one was in the hope the storyline would improve, which never materialized.

I bought this book because the reviews for this writer were consistently good but I can only assume she has written them herself. The writing is inept - doubt if there is any sentence longer than six words in the whole book - the plot was both tedious and ridiculous and the characters were just strange, cardboard cut-outs. Can someone please explain the appeal of this writer to me?
